So... this morning we were sipping on some coffee and thinking about how our fundraising teams can get their word out to the community about their fundraising event. Instinctively, we started coming up with the usual ideas of sending out emails, approaching family & friends, picking up the phone, etc, but then we started talking about Social networking. These days, you hear more and more about the popularity of "social networking" and how everyone is doing it. What is it you ask?
For those of you eager enough to join the rest of us and sell these beautiful poinsettias as your winter fundraiser, I thought I would enlighten you with some interesting facts. You never know when a customer will start drilling you with questions before a final sale.
I am sure that many parents think, "oh no….not another fundraiser". So, why is our fundraiser so different? If I may have your time, I would like to quickly explain. Thanks for your attention.
One of the great things you get when fundraising with a DeVry Poinsettia Fundraiser is your own customized website where you can explain what you are raising money for and accept orders online!
Challenge your team members to aim for individual goals! Offer incentives if they do!! Friendly competitions bring excitement and motivation to all involved and your sales will benefit from this.
For example, offer team members who sell 20 plants or more a free movie rental pass. Often you can get incentive prizes from local businesses for free (such as Rogers Video) if you approach them about raising funds for a great cause. It never hurts to ASK.
A great way to increase poinsettia sales is to increase awareness!! A unique and very effective avenue for this is to have your group write a quick press release and send it to your local paper...
There are billions of blogs out there, but this one is ours.
Welcome!
